You people probably want to know what I'm doing and thinking
It seems I don't have a lot of time to blog, so here goes.
Professionally, I am marketing a cartoon series called "Wo Fat Clan". Wo Fat Clan is primarily about a set of geese, turkeys, and chickens who live on a farm with their owner (me) in the modern day Confederate States of America. You can read about it as I have updated it, www.wofatclan.com . It is not the purpose of the cartoon to sell the resurrection of the Confederacy, but that would be a nice after effect as far as I'm concerned.
Now, on the initial days of the Obama administration. The primary complaint I have is that way too much of it resembles the Bush administration that we just got through with. Same bloated budgets. Same corporate bailouts. Same failed policies. Don't get me wrong, I think "some" of the stimulus items needed to be done. However, in terms of rescuing the economy, I can tell you that unless MAJOR MAJOR cuts in the federal budget are engaged, none of this is going to do any good. The Treasury Secretary is a disaster. I have far less exception with the "socialist agenda" that seems to get the right wing in such a tizzy, than I do the apparent complete lack of fiscal discipline and accounting ability. I was pleased to see them do away with "dishonest accounting measures". But if they don't radically change the way government spends, it is ALL going into the toilet.
The trouble is, the Republicans can't make up their minds what they want to do. They stuck together on the Stimulus package, more or less, but in terms of the remnant Bush budget, they can't seem to make up their minds whether they want to be Goldwater conservatives or Tip O'Neill liberals. And Obama is not helping, and he has indicated he will sign whatever they send him, which is a compelte and full cop out. He is now the president, and he needs to act like he actually replaced Bush, like the People elected him to do.
Obama's also going the wrong way down the street on gun control measures. Although it is not likely that any of them will pass, both he and Holder, on the subject of the Mexican drug cartels, have revealed themselves to be complete idiots. Fortunately, their proposals will never pass. But the thing about it is, I would really like the Obama administration to SUCCESSFULLY steer the country into the right direction. If they are so clueless as to what needs to be done on the Southern border, it doesn't sound very promising that he will do that. Also, perhaps Obama doesn't keep up with these things. But about 20 states have passed or are going to pass resolution which effectively declare for all intents and purposes, secession, if the fedgov goes through with an oppresive gun control agenda. It's a good thing he's studied Lincoln. If he continues to pursue gun control, he may find himself in the exact same position as Lincoln.... having to determine whether to go into rebelled states with military force to subdue secessions. Except now, we have nukes. You know, the REST of us could manage real well without the Boston to DC corridor and Illinois and California. If we are the "United States of America", then Obama needs to abide by the CONSTITUTION of the "United States of America". In toto, without exceptions. Otherwise, he may find himself in a comparable situation to his lifelong hero, Mr. Lincoln.

Good luck trying to put down secession this time around, with a military that's exhausted, demoralized and tied down halfway across the world. Not to mention the fact it's proven itself utterly incapable of handling guerrilla warfare, which is what they'd face here as well. They can barely hold on to Iraq and are about to learn the hard way why Afghanistan is the "graveyard of empires." Now try to imagine them successfully invading & occupying Alaska.
Had the South waged a guerrilla war in 1861 rather than field stand-up armies, they'd have prevailed. It would likely have taken 10-15 years, but in the end they would have won.
At any rate, the military would fracture along racial lines early in the breakup, and the black units -- poorly trained, undisciplined, and led by incompetent affirmative-action officers -- would quickly be obliterated.
